More aware of their rights, more concerned about the use of their personal data and by the use of certain technologies in their daily lives, the French are more complained to the Cnil. The guardian of the privacy of citizens in the face of the digital received 14.137 complaints last year, an increase of 27%. Another rallying theme: “the surveillance of employees at their location or during their time of work” accounted for 10.7% of complaints last year. Technological tools such as video surveillance, geolocation, or phone-tapping, are used by some employers.

Sanction record against Google
If the complaints continue to increase, the number of warnings has dropped slightly in the last year (42 compared to 49), as did the number of sanctions (8 against 11).
