The French will face the Slovenes on Saturday in the match for 3rd place, still in Rome, to win their first medal in a major tournament since their Olympic coronation in Tokyo in 2021.
For their part, the Italians will face the Poles in the final, winners of the Slovenes in the other semi-final to try to win an 8th continental coronation, the second in a row.
