The Bulgaria-Hungary meeting counting for Euro-2024 qualifying will be held behind closed doors on November 16 due to the risk of disruption reported by the Bulgarian authorities, UEFA said on Monday.
This measure was accepted “by all parties”, specifies the European football body, “after analysis of the information” indicating “a high risk of disturbances to public order inside and outside of the stadium”.
With 14 and 2 points, Hungary and Bulgaria respectively occupy the lead and fifth and last place in Group G of qualifying for the Euro, before the last two days.
Before their return match scheduled in Plovdiv, in central Bulgaria, they met on March 27 in Budapest: Hungary won 3-0.
