The midfielder of the France hopefuls team, Manu Koné, injured in the right knee on Wednesday against Switzerland (4-1), is forfeited for the rest of the competition, announced the FFF on Thursday.

Koné, who plays in the Bundesliga at Borussia Mönchengladbach, underwent tests on Thursday in Cluj, revealing a sprained right knee with trauma to the patella.

Touched fifteen minutes into the game, he tried to regain his place before giving up, replaced by Enzo Le Fée.

Koné is the second French player to forfeit during the tournament after Michael Olise, injured in the left thigh during the success against Norway (1-0).

France will play their quarter-final on Sunday against Ukraine (9:00 p.m.).
