Ajax Amsterdam, on the strength of their 4-1 away victory in the first leg, qualified for the group stage of the Europa League but after a surprising home defeat against Bulgarian club Ludogorets (0-1 ), Thursday in the return play-off. The goal was scored by Argentinian striker Matias Tissera in the 62nd minute.
Beaten 3-1 in the first leg, Sparta Prague managed to overthrow Dinamo Zagreb by winning 4-1 on their ground with a decisive last goal from Nigerian Victor Olatunji (87th). Belgian club Union St-Gilloise, who won 2-0 from Lugano in the first leg, won again on Thursday evening in Switzerland 1-0 with a goal from German striker Dennis Eckert Ayensa from the 7th minute. The group stage draw will take place on Friday in Monaco.
