OM coach Jean-Louis Gasset paid tribute on Wednesday to his striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, still performing well at almost 35 years old because, according to him, “he is 20 years old in his head”.
“He is the top scorer in the competition. It speaks for itself. It’s the player who makes the difference for us,” Gasset first responded to a question about the performances of Aubameyang, author of 27 goals this season with OM, including 12 in European competitions.
“I don’t believe his age. He is 20 years old in his head, Gasset also joked. She’s a beautiful person, very generous.”
Also asked about the Gabonese striker’s season, Jonathan Clauss spoke of his teammate’s “professionalism, serenity and self-confidence”.
“I didn’t dwell on his age. I’ve seen his impressive stats for a long time. He has perspective when he is in complicated times. That was the case at the start here, when it was a little difficult for him. We never felt him weakened,” explained the Marseille right-back.
