“We are keen on this competition,” assured OM president Pablo Longoria on Thursday, on the eve of the draw for the Europa League groups. “We care about this competition and we want to be competitive. OM have a great history over the past 20 years in this competition,” the Spanish leader told a press conference.
OM have been returned to the C3 groups, the draw for which will take place on Friday at 1 p.m., after their elimination by Panathinaikos in the third preliminary round of the Champions League. “We have to respect the competition and try to go as far as possible, with humility. It is important for the club, for the supporters and for French football which must defend its 5th place (in the UEFA index, editor’s note) against the Dutch championship, ”explained Longoria.
OM have reached the C3 final three times, in 1999, 2004 and 2018, but have never won it.
