The alleged murderer of Christopher Aurier, brother of Ivorian footballer Serge Aurier (Nottingham Forest, ex-PSG), will be tried by the Assize Court of Haute-Garonne, we learned on Wednesday from concordant judicial sources. This driving instructor, 30 years old today, had confessed to being the author of this shooting murder on July 13, 2020, after presenting himself to the central police station in Toulouse 48 hours after the facts. Injured in the abdomen, Christopher Aurier, 26, was rescued at the scene, at the exit of a nightclub in an industrial area on the outskirts of Toulouse. But he succumbed after his transfer to the hospital.
Already convicted four times, including for violence with a weapon, the alleged murderer said he had an altercation with the victim, claiming that Christopher Aurier had insulted his companion. He faces life imprisonment. Witnesses present in the night establishment point to the “aggressive” attitude of the respondent during the evening, unlike the victim described as “respectful” and “jovial”. Cadet of the Ivorian international and trained like him at RC Lens, Christopher Aurier still played football, but at an amateur level, licensed at Toulouse Rodeo (5th division).
