Sidelined with injury for a month, Vinicius is part of the Brazilian selection announced on Saturday for the qualifying matches for the 2026 World Cup against Venezuela and Uruguay.

The 23-year-old Real Madrid striker missed the last international window after injuring his biceps femoris against Celta Vigo in late August, and has not played again since.

Brazilian coach Fernando Diniz recalled this as the twirling winger will return to the Madrid squad for the derby against Atlético Madrid on Sunday (9:00 p.m.).

Brazil, winner of Peru and Bolivia during the first two days of the qualifiers at the beginning of September, will host Venezuela on October 13 before challenging Marcelo Bielsa’s Uruguay on the 18th.
