A woman was killed and at least four people injured, all hit by a man driving a car after a soccer match in Torreon, northern Mexico, the Monterrey club announced Monday.
“We deeply deplore that one of our supporters died and that several fans were injured in the events that occurred on Sunday evening in Torreon,” Monterrey CF, which won 2-0 on Sunday, wrote on social networks. Santos Laguna club ground.
According to the Mexican press, after this setback, a suspected Santos Laguna supporter drove a van into the opposing supporters. “At this stage, those allegedly responsible for these facts have been arrested and made available to local authorities,” added the Santos Laguna club in a separate statement.
