This is the bad news of the preseason from the side of Chelsea. During the friendly match between the Blues and Dortmund (1-1), in Chicago on Wednesday, the French striker came out injured after 20 short minutes of play. He left the field limping, hit in the same knee that had him excluded from the World Cup in Qatar at the end of 2022.

The French international joined the London club almost two months ago, from Leipzig (Germany). In preparation, Christopher Nkunku shone until then, scoring 3 goals in 4 games. His coach, Mauricio Pochettino explained that “the doctors are checking and I hope it’s not a big problem” before adding: “He fell in the action, which was maybe a penalty and he feels something in his knee, but hopefully it’s nothing serious. We hope he can return to the team soon. We need a few days to assess it.”
