André Onana will make his return with the Cameroonian selection. After a turbulent World Cup, the titular doorman of the indomitable lions had been excluded from the group for behavioral problems. In the process, the 27-year-old goalkeeper announced his international retirement in December 2022.
But nine months later, the new Manchester United player published a statement on his social networks to reaffirm his love for the Cameroonian jersey.
The former Inter player explained that he “was confronted with ordeals marked by injustice and manipulation”. Stating that “his unwavering love and attachment to his homeland remain intact”, he also affirms that he faced “manipulation, lies and abuse of power”. The player trained at Barça also praised the Cameroonian government “which is working tirelessly to build a better Cameroon for all”
Despite a lackluster start to the season with the Red Devils with seven goals conceded in four games, André Onana remains a major asset for his selection.
