The meeting between Scotland and Israel counting for the qualifications for the women’s Euro 2025, on May 31 in Glasgow, will be played without spectators due to “the risk of disruption”, the Scottish Federation announced on Tuesday against the backdrop of the war between Israel and Hamas.

The decision to play at Hampden Park was taken after “extensive consultations on security with all relevant parties”, a statement read.

“The stadium operations team have been informed of the risks of disruption to the match and, as a result, we have no option but to play the match without fans,” the Scottish FA wrote.

The Hamas attack on Israeli soil on October 7 resulted in the deaths of more than 1,170 people, mostly civilians, and was followed by an Israeli armed offensive in the besieged Gaza Strip, which provoked the death of at least 35,647 people, most of them civilians, according to the latest report communicated Tuesday by the Ministry of Health of the government of the Palestinian territory led by Hamas.
