These are the images that put stars in your eyes. The derby between River Plate and Boca Juniors, the two clubs from Buenos Aires, never disappoints. On the pitch, the intensity is always at its peak and sometimes even takes over the technical aspect. But if the matches are often very competitive, the real spectacle takes place in the stands each time.

The first leg of this season took place on Sunday evening at the Monumental Stadium, the home of River Plate. When the players left, the 80,000 supporters present made the stands shake. The match ended in a draw (1-1) with the visitors equalizing at the end of the match.

At the end of this 262nd Superclasico in history, it is therefore still the Boca Juniors club which has the most victories (91) against its neighbor River Plate (86). The return match is scheduled for September 2024 and will take place at Boca Juniors’ stadium, La Bombonera.
