An evening to forget for Neymar and Brazil held in check by Venezuela (1-1) in the World Cup qualifiers. Author of an assist but not really inspired throughout the game, Al-Hilal striker in Qatar was leaving the field when a spectator threw a box of popcorn in his direction. The individual aimed well because the South American star was hit in the head by the cone which lost some popcorn in the air.
Although he was not injured, Neymar was surprised by the spectator’s gesture of frustration and made it known by speaking angrily to him before his teammates pushed him to return to the locker room.
“This fan threw… I didn’t even see what it was, I only saw it when he touched me, I became very nervous, I condemn this kind of attitude, you have no not to do it, it’s very bad for football, for human beings,” commented the striker quoted by Le Soir. “A guy who does this kind of thing is not an educated guy, he won’t be able to raise his son in the best possible way. If he complains so much, it is he who should have trained better and been on the pitch, not me,” added the “Ney”.
