“Thank you football… I gave… I vibrated… I appreciated you… and hated you, you were part of my life I salute you and thank you”. It is with these words that Nolan Roux announced his retirement from sports on an Instagram post. The striker who played nearly 300 matches in Ligue 1 during his career had been without a club since the end of his contract with Châteauroux, whom he joined in 2021.
Trained in Lens, he played with many Ligue 1 clubs. First Brest where he made his mark, then Lille and Saint-Étienne with whom he played in the European Cups. This was followed by experiences in Metz, Guingamp, Nîmes and finally Châteauroux en National. During his career he found the net 113 times in all competitions, including 73 times in L1.
