Ajax Amsterdam led the way with an own goal from English defender Jarrad Branthwaite (43rd). Belgian international Thorgan Hazard, who came off the bench in the 59th minute, equalized for PSV (67th). No other goal having been scored before the end of regulation time and then during extra time, the final was decided on penalties. Ajax completely missed their session, scoring only 2 out of 5 shots.
