“I’m thinking about the national team. There is a possibility, yes, but we will see, just like for the extension (with Real Madrid). At the moment I don’t know,” Kroos said at the press conference ahead of the Champions League match against Leipzig on Tuesday.

Last December, German coach Julian Nagelsmann raised the possibility of recalling the 34-year-old midfielder, who had retired from international duty in 2021. Kroos could be tempted to bring his experience to a group in bad shape after the end of its golden generation crowned world champion in 2014, with a view to Euro-2024 at home next June.

The ex-Bayern Munich player, whose contract with Real Madrid expires in June, also assures that he is still thinking about his future in the Spanish capital: “I haven’t decided anything yet. I’m very happy that a lot of people want me to play one more year, it’s always a positive sign. I feel good, but I haven’t made a decision yet,” he added.
