Albania qualified for Euro-2024 on Friday by signing a 1-1 draw in Moldova, during the 7th and penultimate day of qualifying in Group E. In Chisinau, the Albanians took the advantage thanks to a penalty from Çikalleshi (25th) before being joined by a nice strike from Moldovan Baboglo at the end of the match (87th). They will take part in their second Euro in Germany, after the 2016 edition played in France.

With this qualification, we now know half of the 24 nations which will compete in this Euro, including Germany, the host country. Albania obtained its ticket for the continental meeting which will be held at the start of next summer after a good campaign, during which it lost only one match, on the first day in Poland ( 1-0). The players of Brazilian coach Sylvinho, who played on the Lyon bench, are assured, one day before the end of the qualifying phase, of finishing in one of the first two places in their group, with 14 points in seven matches, while that Moldova, 3rd, only has 10.

The second ticket to Germany will be played between Poland, the Czech Republic, who face each other on Friday evening, and Moldova, who could be eliminated in the event of a Czech victory. During Euro-2016 in France, the Albanians, led by their historic captain Lorik Cana, finished in third place in their group behind France and Switzerland, but, as the worst third in the group, did not were able to reach the round of 16.
