Former Ajax Amsterdam goalkeeper Edwin Van der Sar, still hospitalized in intensive care after a brain haemorrhage on Friday, is in stable but still worrying condition, the club announced on Saturday. “Edwin van der Sar is still in intensive care at the moment. His condition is stable but still worrying,” Ajax said in a statement released on Saturday. “The Van der Sar family, like Ajax, is grateful and very touched by the many messages of support,” the statement added.

Van der Sar left his role as general manager of Ajax Amsterdam in May, which he had held since 2016, after the Amsterdam club’s worst season in 14 years, which ended in third place in the Dutch league behind Feyenoord Rotterdam and PSV.
