“Sexism” persists in sport, the spokesperson for the UN Secretary General regretted on Monday, calling on the Spanish authorities to respond to the Spanish football boss’s forced kiss to the player Jenni Hermoso “with respect for the rights of sports”.
“Is it so difficult not to kiss someone on the mouth!”, Launched Stéphane Dujarric, questioned about this forced kiss which aroused a wave of indignation.
“The crucial problem of sexism persists in sport and we hope that the Spanish authorities and the Spanish government handle (this matter) with respect for the rights of all sportswomen,” he added.
Spanish justice announced on Monday the opening of a preliminary investigation for “sexual assault” after this forced kiss from Spanish football boss Luis Rubiales to world champion Jenni Hermoso.
