The Visa Cash App RB Formula 1 team, formerly AlphaTauri, announced on Monday the recruitment of three new managers including Briton Alan Permane, who left the French team Alpine last July.

Permane was appointed racing director of the team based in Faenza (Italy) and therefore returns to the paddock just six months after leaving Alpine to everyone’s surprise after 34 years of good and loyal service.

Tim Goss was appointed technical director of the team. The British engineer, who spent almost his entire career at McLaren (1990-2018), has just left the International Automobile Federation (FIA) where he has served since 2021.

He will be assisted by Frenchman Guillaume Castellani, appointed deputy technical director, who has more than 15 years of experience in F1 at Lotus, McLaren and Red Bull.

In addition to its name change, Visa Cash App RB also changed bosses this year since Frenchman Laurent Mekies, former sporting director of Ferrari, took charge, replacing Austrian veteran Franz Tost.

In 2023, AlphaTauri finished 8th (out of 10) in the World Constructors’ Championship with only 25 points on the clock.
