Charles Leclerc concluded the first day of Formula 1 free practice with the best time of the day this Friday in Monaco. At the wheel of his Ferrari, the Monegasque was 0”188 ahead of Lewis Hamilton, who confirms his good disposition in the Principality, where he also resides, after setting the best time in the first practice session with his Mercedes this Friday Morning. Also accustomed to the Monegasque track for so many years, Fernando Alonso (Aston Martin) completes the podium of this test session (0”475), just ahead of Max Verstappen (0”535), behind this Friday. The Red Bull driver, however, still relegates his teammate Sergio Perez (8th by more than three tenths).

Note the clear decline of Oscar Piastri, second in the first session on Friday and ejected from the top 10 (12th by more than a second) after wearing medium tires. Attraction of the last two GPs, his McLaren teammate Lando Norris remains placed (5th at 0”675). As for the French drivers, Esteban Ocon (14th) and Pierre Gasly (17th) are still struggling at the wheel of their Alpine.
