Max Verstappen (Red Bull) will start the sprint race in Belgium, the 12th round of the Formula 1 season, after setting the fastest qualifying time on a drying track on Saturday.
The championship leader will start ahead of the Australian Oscar Piastri (McLaren), 2nd, who was blown out of first place by the Dutchman by only eleven thousandths.
The two Ferraris of Carlos Sainz, 3rd and Charles Leclerc, 4th, will start on the second row of the sprint, the start of which will be given at 5:05 p.m.
On Friday, Verstappen was penalized five places on the starting grid of the Grand Prix on Sunday due to a gearbox change – a penalty which does not however apply to the start of the sprint race.
