Evil tongues would start the story well: for a Long time it looked as Influencer would be the big con of the 21st century. Century. But now it seems as if the beautiful Lifestyle would Gurus on Instagram more and more a victim of your hunt for Likes and Free holidays.
The Influencer-business-runs – for all Non-initiates – in the rule: Someone who is beautiful, athletic, or well-traveled and a certain number of Fans in social media, receives from a company’s products and/or money to advertise said products. This can be from the nail Polish to stay in an exotic luxury Resort, pretty much everything. This has led in the past, in the best case, to funny photos or even successful advertising campaigns, in the worst case, to envy or resentment.
But now, the stories are growing increasingly uncertain Influencer, the real trick scammer alert. The story of Carley Rudd and Henry Wu tells the story of a so-elaborate Blöff that you want to pay tribute to the minds behind it, almost recognition. Both were contacted by a Person, who only pretended to be Wendi Murdoch. The supposed Business Woman and Ex-wife of Rupert Murdoch invited, allegedly over a hundred photographers and instagrammers to Indonesia and Malaysia.

describe what is Interesting about this case: The victim of the fraud as almost perfect – everything seemed to be real. The E-Mails, the confidentiality agreement, the Briefings, even the phone calls. The Instagrammers a payment was promised, and the refund of all trip cost. But then it was pretty fast weird.

On the day of departure learns of Rudd, one of the victims, that they should pay 1400 dollars for a photographer license. What made them suspicious, it was only the first point in a series of disagreements which might occur in the result. The driver makes a Stop at an auto repair shop, in order to pass the 1400 dollars, and not more the next day is at once found, the photographer must move with the travelling husband. In between, there are regular calls from the supposed Mrs Murdoch and her assistant to put Rudd under pressure. At the end of the contact to the wrong Wendi and her assistant, was cancelled completely: The young American was scammers. On her Blog she says: “I feel abused, naive, and humiliated.”

Henry Wu, describes on his Website how he became a victim of the Criminal, refers to a report from the “Hollywood Reporter” from the last summer. Apparently, professionals were geneppt with this mesh are longer in the free end of the media industry.

I normally try to post aspirational and inspiring photos on my feed – and this is one of those beautiful places we visited this past December. The circumstances behind why we were there are not so great though. ???? . We were there as part of an elaborate scam targeting Instagrammers and Content Creators, luring them to Jakarta on the premise of exhibiting their photography with Wendi Murdoch, the famous ex-wife of Rupert Murdoch. It was a well crafted scam that’s actually been going on for the past four years in different forms. In the past they’ve targeted filmmakers, military contractors, and even hairdressers. They are now actively targeting Instagrammers specifically and AS I TYPE THIS – THERE ARE STILL people flying to Jakarta and Jakarta being actively scammed!???? . Others have tried to milk Influencer, you have to have to pay for it: The American entrepreneur Billy McFarland had specified with the Rapper Ja Rule, to organize a luxury Festival on the of the Bahamas island of Great Exuma. He had approached with the promise of fine food, luxury Lifestyle and music Performances, particularly Influencers, and with names such as Kendall Jenner or Bella Hadid curly. The festival visitors will be paid in the four-digit dollar range for Tickets, and found on the spot instead of noble huts and stars kitchen tents and pre-packaged Sandwiches. The Stunt drew several charges and ended in October for McFarland with a harsh judgment: He must pay back to prison for six years and the 26 million dollars that he ergaunerte,.

a bit of harmless fashion-Influencer, the end of last year, a Shoe dealer food came: The brand of Payless in the United States price value of the footwear offered had opened – probably as a Publicity Stunt in Los Angeles, a false luxury, business, by offering their own Low-Budget-shoes for several Hundred dollars. Some of the Influencers that were invited, who fell for the Trick at the end of the “social experiment” as the company called it, got them back the money and were allowed to keep the shoes.
The sustained Influencer-the Hype gets so little of my time is enjoyed to the Plan in an industry, the rules are still not fixed and reliably measurable Numbers knows, actually, no wonder.
