In Clairefontaine

The Blues at work. After a light and à la carte session on Monday, between treatments for some, laps of the field or hitting exercises for others, Deschamps’ men had an appointment for a collective session this Tuesday, in Clairefontaine. Two absent: Boubacar Kamara (Aston Villa) and Jonathan Clauss (OM), spared. However, they worked indoors, nothing to worry about, so, while the rest of their little comrades worked on the lawn, under the eyes of a few guests for the 50th anniversary of the French team. This was again a relatively light session. On the menu: jogging, stretching, bullfights, small-field competitions…

Classic session for everyone, well almost: it’s the first time that rookie Warren Zaire-Emery trained with the big Blues. At the age of 17, the Parisian arrived with his club teammate Lucas Hernandez and William Saliba and Eduardo Camavinga, relaxed, smiling and discreet, as usual. During oppositions, he was notably associated with Lucas Hernandez, Olivier Giroud, Youssouf Fofana, William Saliba, Alphonse Areola, Antoine Griezmann, Dayot Upamecano and Axel Disasi. Playing as simple as with Paris-SG, without fuss, “WZE” stood out for example with a decisive pass for… Areola, who has delivered five “caviars” since the start of the current campaign with the Red and Blue.

It was his team which won the opposition against that of Kylian Mbappé, not failing to put down their “victims” of the day. Competitor through and through, said Mbappé did not particularly appreciate bowing down, even for simple opposition in training… The pride of the champion speaking! Zaire-Emery, for his part, returned to the locker room just as quietly as he arrived on the field after this first session, even if he represented the real attraction this Tuesday, all eyes on him.

Already qualified for Euro 2024, the 2022 world vice-champions have a meeting with Gibraltar next Saturday (8:45 p.m.) and Greece on November 21 (8:45 p.m.) in order to complete their campaign in the qualifiers.
