RB Leipzig won 5 goals to 1 on the pitch of FC Cologne and provisionally climbed to 4th place in the standings, Friday evening at the opening of the 26th day of the German championship. Leipzig (49 pts) abandons fifth place to Dortmund (47 pts) which hosts Eintracht Frankfurt (6th, 40 pts) on Sunday.
FC Cologne remains in an unfortunate position in 16th place, with only two points ahead of Mainz (17th) and five over Darmstadt, 18th and last. Leipzig, eliminated on March 6 by Real Madrid in the round of 16 of the Champions League, is now three victories in a row in the Bundesliga.
The goals were scored by Xavi Simons (15th), Loïs Openda (63rd, 67th), Amadou Haidara (70th) and Yussuf Poulsen (82nd) for Leipzig, and by Sargis Adamyan (18th) for Cologne.
