The very versatile Lucas Vazquez, who had not played again since January 3 due to a right thigh injury, made a strong impression at Getafe. First a decisive passer on Joselu’s first goal (14th), the Spanish international multiplied the number of dangerous crosses, particularly towards the Spanish striker. He also played a key role in defense, with this good return in the 68th minute.

His association with Lucas Vazquez on the right side was perfect, the two Spaniards found each other at the right moments. He finished Madrid’s first goal, with a nice cross header, and allowed the Merengues to make the break at the start of the second half (56th), after good work from Bellingham, Mendy and Vinicius in the midfield. Two opportunities were enough for him to shelter “Los Blancos”.

The English striker from Getafe, who arrived this year and became an indisputable starter last October, produced a very good copy this Thursday evening. Despite his team’s defeat, the former Manchester United striker tried numerous times (53rd post, dangerous strikes 54th, 80th, 90th 2) but lacked a bit of success to allow his team to return to the part. Restless, he was the most prominent player on his team.

Flops

The Brazilian nugget of Real Madrid is full of talent. Vinicius showed it once again this evening, with his decisive pass and a few percussions that could have hit the mark. But the 23-year-old striker twice failed to win the match. First in the 62nd minute, where he tried to dribble past the opposing goalkeeper, in vain, after an excellent pass from Joselu. Then in the 70th minute, he missed his one on one with Soria, the opposing goalkeeper, while he was alone in front of him. Replaced by Rodrygo in the 75th.

His 90 meter was no match for Joselu’s 92 meter. In the duel with the latter, the Portuguese central defender from Getafe was beaten in almost all of his duels with the Spanish striker. He failed to prevent Joselu from flying to score the first goal in the 14th minute. Replaced at half-time by Juanmi Latasa.

The left side defender of Getafe, generally positioned in the axis by José Bordalas, experienced a nightmare against Lucas Vazquez. The latter first fined him when sending his decisive cross to allow Real Madrid to score the first goal, before disgusting him with multiple crosses. He took advantage of the indulgence of the referee of the match not to cause a penalty in added time of the second half, after catching Brahim Diaz in the Getafian penalty area. A match to forget for the Spaniard.
