The Spaniard Jorge Martin (Ducati-Pramac), second in the MotoGP world championship, will start in pole position for the sprint and the San Marino Grand Prix after setting the best time in qualifying on Saturday in Misano (Italy).

“Martinator” – who in passing took the circuit lap record held since the day before by the Italian Marco Bezzecchi (Ducati-VR46), will start in front of the latter during the sprint race on Saturday afternoon (3:00 p.m.) and of the Grand Prix on Sunday (2:00 p.m.).

“At home” on the Adriatic coast, the solid overall leader Francesco Bagnaia, 3rd, completes a 100% Ducati front row, less than a week after his frightening high side – a glide – during the GP of Catalonia.

The French Fabio Quartararo (Yamaha) and Johann Zarco (Ducati-Pramac) will start 13th and 16th respectively.

The first, reigning vice-champion, failed at the gates of Q2 where pole was decided, finishing just 38/1000th behind the Spaniard Aleix Espargaro (Aprilia).

Quartararo, who was competing in the repechages for the seventh time this season, will therefore start in the fifth row, far from the best.
