Right back Laura Flippes, 2023 world champion with the French handball team, will return to Metz next season, the reigning double French champion club announced on Monday.

The 29-year-old player has signed until 2027 from CSM Bucharest.

She left the Lorraine club, where she was trained, in 2020 to join Paris 92, before signing in the summer of 2023 in Romania.

Flippes will replace Dane Louise Burgaard post for post, who will return to the country in Odense.

The “Dragonnes”, who will also lose goalkeeper Hatadou Sako and Dane Kristina Jörgensen next season, leaving for Györ in Hungary, had already registered the extension of their captain and left winger Chloé Valentini (world champion with Sako and Flippes in December).
