Paris SG handball announced on Monday the recruitment of Egyptian international Yahia Omar, one of the best right backs in the world, he will join the capital club from the 2024-2025 season and for three seasons.
Omar, 25 years old and voted best right-back of the 2021 Olympics, where he lost with the Pharaohs in the semi-finals against France, had been playing since 2019 in Veszprem. The big Hungarian club signed Nedim Remili, who can also play at right-back, in February after Omar suffered a serious knee injury in December 2022.
“Welcoming a player like Yahia is very positive for the future of the Club. His experience in one of the best European clubs has allowed him to become a benchmark player in his position, “said Thierry Omeyer, general manager of the Parisians, in the PSG press release. The latter lost their best right-back this summer, the Latvian Dainis Kristopans, who signed with German club Melsungen.
“Joining Paris Saint-Germain Handball will allow me to continue my progress,” Omar said in the press release.
