To say that Carlo Ancelotti is fulfilled by Eduardo Camavinga at Real Madrid is an understatement. “Eduardo is untouchable, like (Luka) Modric and like (Toni) Kroos. Wherever he plays, he plays very well,” praised the Madrid coach at the start of March. Saturday evening, after Real’s victory against Celta Vigo in the league (2-0), Ancelotti called the 20-year-old French midfielder a “special player”. He gave it a layer on Monday, on the eve of a trip to Girona.
“He is progressing very well. He took advantage of his playing time as a left-back to push his limits which have to do with his age, his experience and his tactical knowledge, nothing more, ”developed Ancelotti. The Italian technician believes that “technically, (Camavinga) has nothing more to learn and physically, he has a Ferrari engine, it’s not a Fiat 500”.
Camavinga has made 49 appearances for Real Madrid this season, more than any other player. The former Rennais has started 26 times, notably in the round of 16 and quarter-finals, back and forth, for Real in the Champions League. The Merengue are 2nd in La Liga with eleven points behind FC Barcelona.
