Dani Alves has been incarcerated since January 20 at Brians 2 prison, about forty kilometers from Barcelona, for sexual assault on a young woman. As a reminder, the alleged victim had complained about events dating back to the night of December 30 to 31, 2022, in the toilets of Sutton, a Barcelona night establishment. From the remand center, the Brazilian gave an interview to La Vanguardia in June to publicly apologize to his wife. But on Monday, the Madrid daily AS obtained the testimony of the young 23-year-old alleged victim. The latter provided many sordid details about what happened.
“He was behind me, I had my cousin in front of me. Then I remember him walking away and beckoning me to come to him. Until the end, I thought, you can talk to him and see what he wants, and I didn’t think anything else. I went there to talk to him. At no time did I know where I was going. I remember going to where he was, but I couldn’t imagine where he was taking me. We arrived and there was a door, he opened it and I walked in. When I walked in, I saw what I was getting myself into, I saw it was a tiny toilet, I saw it was very, very small. I think that’s when my shock started.”
The young woman added: “I remember he sat down and I started saying to him: ‘I have to go, I have to go.’ I remember him lifting my dress and making me sit on him. And he started telling me a lot of things. He insisted that I tell him things… and from then on I resisted (…) He hurt my knee and I ended up with an injury. He tried to make me perform oral sex. I kept walking away, until he grabbed me by the neck and started slapping me.” The former Barça and PSG player decided last August not to appeal his referral to a Spanish court so as not to delay his trial, even if he disputes the facts. The 40-year-old Brazilian still does not know the date of his trial at this time and remains in pre-trial detention.
