With once again the “Little Slam” achieved this season, by gleaning 3 Grand Slam titles out of 4 (Australian Open, Roland-Garros and the US Open), the Serbian still seems as strong despite his 36 years and continues to break records.
However, “Nole” thinks that he is not recognized for his true value. The reason for this thought? His nationality: “I’ll leave it to you and everyone else to decide if I deserve to be part of this debate (of the GOAT, Greatest of all time), one thing is sure: if I was not from Serbia, I would have been glorified in sporting terms many years ago, especially in the West,” the US Open winner told Serbian media Sportklub. Novak Djokovic therefore believes that his origins could prevent some observers from considering him as the greatest, which in no way takes away his pride in being Serbian: “It is part of the path of my life, I am grateful to have come from Serbia, this gives me faith and hope,” he added.
