Frenchman Romain Grosjean, without driving in IndyCar next year since the end of his collaboration with Andretti, will finally join Juncos in 2024, the American-Argentinian team announced on Thursday.

“I have closely followed the rise of JHR (for Juncos Hollinger Racing, editor’s note) over the last few seasons. The team has seen significant growth and I look forward to bringing my experience to the table as we aim for a strong 2024 season,” Grosjean said in a statement.

The former Formula 1 driver, engaged in IndyCar since 2021, will therefore continue his American adventure – for a time threatened after the end of his collaboration with Andretti announced at the beginning of September. The Frenchman subsequently indicated that he was launching arbitration proceedings against the American team.

“I expected to continue racing with the good Andretti Autosport teams (..) I have initiated arbitration proceedings in Indiana against Andretti Autosport in order to protect my rights,” he explained on the social networks.

After a decade spent in F1, punctuated at the end of 2020 by an impressive accident he suffered in Bahrain, Grosjean joined the IndyCar championship in the United States, first within the Dale Coyne team, before joining Andretti in 2022.

The Frenchman finished the 2023 season in 13th place, matching his 2022 performance. As for Juncos, the team ranked 7th (out of 15) this year, behind Andretti, the 4th best team in the field.

In addition to IndyCar, Grosjean joined Lamborghini’s endurance program this year with the aim of competing in the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2024.
