Marcus Thuram, the French international for Inter Milan, experienced “a crazy match for something crazy” on Monday evening during his team’s victory against AC Milan (2-1), synonymous with the 20th title Italian champion.

“It was a crazy game to experience something crazy,” said Thuram, who scored Inter’s second goal. “We wanted to win this match for our fans and we succeeded, it’s my first championship title, I’m very proud of it,” underlined the center forward, followed in the stands by his father Lilian, champion of the 1998 world champion and 2000 European champion.

For his first season in Serie A, Thuram, 26, scored twelve goals in the league and provided seven assists.

For his part, his coach, Simone Inzaghi, felt that his team had “done something incredible”. “It was a very competitive but very decent match, even if the last five minutes were very nervous,” he added, referring to the three red cards shown at the end of the match, two for AC Milan, one for Inter.

Five days before the end of the championship, Inter now has a 17-point lead over its runner-up, AC Milan, and is guaranteed to win its first league title since 2021, the twentieth in its history.
