The 2024 Olympic Games in Paris are making great strides. This Friday, the route of the Olympic flame, which will begin on April 16, was unveiled. The countdown to begin.

Guest of BFMTV, Tony Estanguet insisted on the ecological character of this next edition. A major challenge that will begin as soon as the Olympic torch relay is launched. “We want to reduce the carbon footprint of these Games by half and the torch relay must contribute to this, insists the president of the organizing committee of these Games. We take the boat (more often). For trips within France, clean vehicles are used. We will reduce the number of torches produced. We are at 2,000 torches against 12,000 during the last Games. We will use 100% renewable energy. We want to make people dream while being responsible.”

The organizing committee of the Games has recently been turned upside down. The National Financial Prosecutor’s Office searched the headquarters. Tony Estanguet was worried and promised that “there will be accountability” but above all “wants these Games to be exemplary from an ethical point of view.”

Finally, the triple Olympic champion in canoeing (2000, 2004, 2012) also returned to the price of tickets and the future success of these Olympics. For Tony Estanguet, tickets for the Paris edition are no more expensive than those sold for the last Olympic Games. “The reality of the figures, of the seven million tickets already sold, is that half of the tickets are 50 euros and less, once again assures the Pyrenean. Only 10% of tickets sold are over 200 euros. We had a million tickets at 24 euros. These 10% of 200 euro banknotes allow the possibility of many very accessible banknotes. We have set up this draw which, in our opinion, allows equal access to tickets. We have the same prices as in the last editions.
