Villarreal’s Spanish international Yéremy Pino has suffered a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee and is expected to miss the rest of the season, his club announced on Thursday. The young 21-year-old winger, frequently called up to the national team (12 caps, 2 goals) since his early explosion in 2020 at the age of 18, will therefore miss Euro-2024 in Germany, for which Spain is guaranteed to be qualified .

This injury is a hard blow for Villarreal, in bad shape in the league (14th), and for Marcelino, the former OM coach back on the bench of the yellow submarine to try to get it back afloat.
