Kroos has been one of Real’s key players since joining from Bayern Munich in 2014 on the heels of his world championship title with Germany. At Real, he amassed 20 trophies including three Ligas and four Champions Leagues. He has 417 matches in the Madrid white jersey.

According to the Spanish daily AS, Real wanted to extend it so that it continues to share its experience with young circles destined to one day take its place. Among them, the French Aurélien Tchouaméni and Eduardo Camavinga, but also the English Jude Bellingham, freshly arrived at Borussia Dortmund for more than 100 M€. Real’s other legendary midfielder, Luka Modric (37), is also out of contract this summer and has still not extended.
