Monaco’s left side defender, Caio Henrique, underwent successful surgery this Monday in Strasbourg for a ruptured cruciate ligament in his left knee, we learned from the Principality club.
Ten days after his serious injury suffered against Nice (0-1) in the championship, the 26-year-old Brazilian international will now begin a long convalescence period in order to be able to return to collective training with Monaco next April.
Caio Henrique, who became a Brazilian international last September, was also called up by Brazilian coach Fernando Diniz for the October meetings against Venezuela and Uruguay for the qualifying phase for the 2026 World Cup.
Left back Guilherme Arana, 26, who plays for Brazilian club Atlético Mineiro, was selected to replace him.
