According to information from Ouest-France, the right side of the Canaries Fabien Centonze was laid off for a week by his club because of a disrespectful attitude towards the staff and coach Pierre Aristouy. The former Metz player wanted to leave this summer and was unsuccessful. The player’s lawyer denounces a “form of harassment” from FC Nantes towards his client.
Centonze joined FC Nantes last year from Metz, for four million euros. His lawyer Me.Cormier denounces “an ubiquitous and irrational situation”. “It’s difficult to be more respectful than Fabien”, assures the one who represents the 27-year-old player who, according to him, is “collateral damage”.
“This summer, FC Nantes refused an offer from Rennes for Fabien because the club told us that they were counting on him, and that he was an exemplary player,” said the lawyer. “Today, the management of the club submits uninteresting offers to him and makes him pay for refusing them. It is a form of harassment. We will ask for his reinstatement very quickly.” he concluded.
After the truce, Nantes will return to Ligue 1 on the lawn of the Stade Gabriel Montpied against Clermont. After four days, the Canaries have only taken two points, with good draws against AS Monaco and OM.
