Starting 21 of Stade Brestois’ 24 matches in Ligue 1, Hugo Magnetti is one of the reasons for the Finistère club’s crazy season. Ten days before the end of the championship, Brest is 2nd behind PSG with four points ahead of Monaco, 3rd, and is starting to dream of the Champions League. Magnetti should still be there in six months, European Cup or not.

Brest announced the one-year extension of the contract of its 25-year-old midfielder. Magnetti, formerly of Bastia and arrived in Brest in 2017, is now linked to the club until 2027. He has 118 appearances with the Breton club, and wore the captain’s armband against PSG in the round of 16 of the Coupe de France on February 7 (3-1 defeat).
