Bruno Genesio (Rennes coach, after the 5-1 win over Metz): “The equalizer 27 seconds after scoring really annoyed me. At 4-1 or 5-1, you get chances… We have to improve on that: in tighter matches, it won’t be enough. Afterwards, I found my team, with the same intentions of movement, of play. Scoring five goals is always satisfying, like winning a first match, it feels good, it’s been a long time since we had it not done. Enzo Le Fée speaks the same football as many players in this team. A simple game. We have potential, with players who can have an impact during the match. We’re going to savor this evening, but we’re going to get our heads back in the goals tomorrow morning.

For me, it’s one of the best matches that (Jérémy) Doku could have had with us. He was consistent and rewarded with a goal full of opportunism. For players, some offers are hard to refuse, but for the moment, we are not there yet. The other side of the coin of our game: we will never play a match to make it 0-0 and inevitably, that can create imbalances sometimes, which the opponent uses, like this evening.
