The Swiss international striker of Monaco Breel Embolo was operated on Friday in Lyon for a rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament of the right knee, we learned from medical sources.
The operation was performed by Doctor Bertrand Sonnery-Cottet at the Jean-Mermoz Private Hospital in Lyon. The 26-year-old will be out for eight months.
Breel Embolo, who scored 14 goals in all competitions last season, was injured during training on Sunday. Last season, he had already suffered a knee injury and then a foot injury at the end of the season when his team had missed him a lot.
