The Western derby will be played without Nantes supporters. Sunday evening (8:45 p.m.) at Roazhon Park, Stade Rennais hosts FC Nantes during the 7th day of Ligue 1 and the visitor’s parking lot will be empty for the occasion. As announced by the club this Wednesday morning, Canaris supporter groups will boycott the (short) trip due to the conditions imposed by the Ille-et-Vilaine Prefecture which they consider unsuitable.
“Despite the club’s request to increase this gauge, the local authorities have unfortunately confirmed all of the elements published in the prefectural decree (gauge at 500 places, travel obligatorily by bus, meeting point),” indicated the FC Nantes on its site in a press release. “Under these conditions, all of the Nantes supporters groups have decided not to go to Roahzon Park.”
Regretting the lack of “unconditional support” from his supporters, the current 10th in Ligue 1 (Rennes is 9th with 8 points also) added that he “will not open sales to the general public in the parking lot” while the match between the two rivals had been classified “at risk” by the national division for the fight against hooliganism (DNLH).
