Santiago Cucci will leave his post as executive president of Olympique Lyonnais, we learned on Saturday from those around OL, confirming information from the daily L’Équipe.

Aged 53, Cucci was named “interim” executive president on July 13 to succeed Jean-Michel Aulas, who was dismissed from his post on May 5. Former manager of global brands such as Dockers or Levi Strauss, he was hired in the Eagle Football structure of the president-owner of the Rhone club, John Textor, where he will return.

At OL, Cucci had power limited to financial management, in particular that in connection with the DNCG, with which he must still plead in the coming weeks to have the sanctions imposed by the financial policeman of French football which forced the club in its recruitment.

On the other hand, it had no weight on the sporting side, Textor’s reserved domain. The latter spent the week in Lyon with the aim of carrying out restructuring, “putting a lot of things back in the right direction and making some unpleasant decisions”, say those around the club.
