Marseille midfielder and captain, Valentin Rongier, was operated on Monday in Lyon for a fracture of the patella of his left knee, reports AFP citing “medical sources”. The Marseille player, injured against Lille (0-0) on November 4, will be unavailable for three months. The procedure was carried out at the Jean-Mermoz private hospital in Lyon by Doctor Bertrand Sonnery-Cottet.

Trained in Nantes, Rongier, 28, joined OM in 2019. He played 169 matches (3 goals) in Marseille colors, including 15 this season. Another hard blow for OM, 10th in the L1 standings after their defeat at RC Lens (1-0) on Sunday, during the 12th day of the championship.
