“I am very, very annoyed by the referee,” said the Portuguese coach of Lille Paulo Fonseca after the match played on Sunday in Montpellier (0-0) during the 19th day of Ligue 1 .

The northern technician has considered himself the victim of contrary decisions for several matches and he considers that referee Hakim Ben El Hadj deprived him of a better result in Montpellier.

“I usually don’t talk about the referee. France has good referees. The referee (…) prevented the possibility of winning. It’s clear to me. I feel like there are a lot of decisions against us in the last few games, it’s not just today. I do not understand in particular the decision not to let the action play out where Jonathan David is not offside,” he complained.

The Lille coach was nevertheless satisfied with the behavior of his team, reduced to ten shortly before the break after the expulsion of young Ayyoub Bouaddi, starting for the first time in Ligue 1.

“It’s a mix of sensations. I am very happy with the players. We dominated the match in front of a good team. It is difficult to win in Montpellier. There is a feeling of frustration because we could have won. After the red card, we defended well and we had chances,” he noted.
