Ghanaian international Alexander Djiku, who has reached the end of his contract with Strasbourg, joined Fenerbahçe on Monday, the Turkish club announced.
Free since July 1, the 28-year-old former Strasbourg defense boss has signed a four-season contract, including one as an option, Fenerbahçe said.
The native of Montpellier, passed before Alsace by Caen and Bastia, will have his first club experience outside France.
Fenerbahçe, runner-up to their great rival Galatasaray last season in the Süper Lig, wants to win the Turkish championship at all costs this season.
The club, which recruited Bosnian striker Edin Dzeko at the end of June, has not been crowned since 2014, an eternity for its supporters.
The Fenerbahçe canaries, who won the Turkish Cup in early June, will play the second qualifying round of the next Europa League Conference.
