La Cadena Ser reports this Wednesday, according to RMC Sport, that Carlo Ancelotti viewed favorably the recruitment of Harry Kane during this summer transfer window, to replace Karim Benzema, who left for Saudi Arabia.
During pre-season meetings, “Ancelotti asked for a striker, Kane’s name was mentioned,” explains Spanish radio.
At that time, the top scorer in the history of the English selection was still under contract at Tottenham. The former Spurs striker has now been a Bayern Munich player for a few weeks.
Harry Kane was targeted at one point by Real but the president of the merengue club, Florentino Perez, only had eyes for Kylian Mbappé.
Real Madrid therefore finds itself without a real scorer a few hours before the end of the transfer window and with a decimated attack, particularly with the recent injury to Brazilian Vinicius, unavailable for several weeks.
